Michael J. Blood and Samizdat share equal billing on a woozy, late-night session that takes cues from US soul, jazz and house, all filtered through a distinctly Manchester lens. This heady follow-up to 2023’s Disenfranchised Refuseniks is one for fans of Moodymann’s Mahogani-era productions, but also recalls the psychedelic lounge blur of Louie Baloue, the warped electronics of Madteo, and the crooning soul-damage of Autre Ne Veut. Perhaps even early Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti.
