Jose Afonso - Fura Fura

Released in 1981, Fura Fura is one of José Afonso's most enigmatic and sophisticated works, revealing a more experimental side of the artist, both musically and lyrically.

In this album, Afonso continues to explore social and political themes, but with a more introspective and abstract approach, supported by arrangements that combine influences from jazz, traditional music, and the avant-garde. The compositions feature less conventional structures and a freer sound, marked by collaborations with innovative musicians of the time. Fura Fura is a demanding but profoundly rewarding album that demonstrates Zeca Afonso's unique ability to reinvent himself artistically without losing his identity. An essential work for anyone seeking to understand the bolder and more creative dimension of his legacy.
