AYO - Emotional Overload EP

Most naturally associate France tech-house scene with Paris and the Yoyaku stable of labels. Search further afield, though, and you'll discover plenty of producers, DJs and parties based elsewhere in France. Marseilles, for example, the diverse southern city in which KumQuat Records latest signing, Ayo, is based. There's plenty to get the blood pumping across the EP, from the buzzing and fizzing peak-time hypnotism of opener 'Hint Please' and the more elastic (but no less bass-heavy) tec-house funk of 'Pressures Inside', to the bleep techno-influenced early morning dreaminess of 'Late Euphoria' and the bass-heavy, early morning headiness of '+221 Childhood Sense', a fine fusion of tech-house, deep house jazziness and the low-end weight of more expressively dub-fired dancefloor workouts.
